Dear YCD Community,

I’m writing to share some big news with you – after eleven years as the Executive Director for YCD, I am stepping down to make space for the next leader of this incredible organization.

Looking back on the past 11 years and where YCD was when I started this journey, I am struck by the amazing progress our organization and community has made. What was once just a one-day conference has blossomed into a full organization with multiple staff members, youth-led chapters across the state and country, a deep youth-centered curriculum, and strong partnerships with foundations and donors to make this work possible. Thank you for your help and support every step of the way so that YCD can empower and educate the next generation of youth changemakers!

The YCD Board of Directors is beginning its search for the next Executive Director of the organization, and invites you to share this news with anyone who may be qualified and interested. The organization is especially looking for experienced nonprofit leaders and fundraisers who are already living in the Denver metro area. A full role description for the ED role can be found here on the YCD website. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, but we encourage a submission by December 1, 2025 for priority consideration.

Please rest assured that YCD programs will continue as planned throughout the 2025-26 program year while this search is underway. 

While I may be stepping away from YCD in my formal capacity, I plan to remain a steadfast supporter and cheerleader for this work as it continues on with new leadership. The need for YCD’s work across our country has never been more urgent or important, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter for the organization and work holds.
